ABOUT

I'm a visual artist exploring contemplative and metaphorical painting, currently working in the dynamic artistic community of the BK49 collective in Amsterdam.

My artistic practice is an introspective journey, where self-reflection and contemplation converge to visualize the complex emotions and subconscious imagery that shape our collective human experiences. Inspired by the beauty of nature, I often use powerful symbolic subjects such as moths, dragonflies, koi fish, waterlilies, to build metaphorical narratives that speak about spiritual transformations, resilience, and healing.

In my work I often use painting process as a tool for meditation and introspection. This meditative approach results in abstract or imaginary landscapes or seascapes, depicting ethereal spaces, evoking an atmosphere of calm and contemplation. Each painting holds a subtle hint of mystery or symbolism, inviting viewers to explore deeper meanings beneath the surface.

The materials used in my artistic practice deeply respect and honor Nature and the environment. I'm committed to using completely natural materials in my work, and I'm constantly exploring new mediums and ways of making my practice as sustainable as possible. I utilize the highest quality non-toxic, mineral and plant-based pigments, and binders to make my own watercolors. My oil paintings are made with Cobra water-soluble oil paint which is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional oils. The subtle texture is achieved with sand, gravel, dry pigments, used coffee grounds, or other natural materials. This commitment reflects my belief that artistic practice can and should be environmentally conscious.

I aim to further explore the relationship between visual art and subconscious mechanisms, as well as the healing power of the creative process, by educating myself as an Art Therapy practitioner. I believe in the transformative power of creativity and hope to integrate this into my practice.
